We are pleased to announce the II SEBP Algae Symposium, organized by the Algae Biology and Biotechnology Group of the Spanish Society of Plant Biology (SEBP). The meeting will be held at the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF) in Sevilla, on June 1–2, 2026.
Building on the success of our first meeting, this second edition aims to further strengthen our growing community and deepen scientific exchange among researchers working on fundamental and applied aspects of algae biology and biotechnology. The symposium will highlight recent advances in algae and cyanobacteria research, covering physiology, ecology, biochemistry, synthetic biology and biotechnology. It will provide a platform for discussing both fundamental and applied aspects, as well as the role of these photosynthetic organisms in addressing current environmental and global challenges.
Continuing the spirit of the first edition, we are committed to ensuring that newly participating groups have the opportunity to present their work, while also providing visibility to early-career researchers.
We look forward to welcoming you in Sevilla!
